Welsh Dentistry in Crisis

Welsh dentists are currently being prevented from providing dental care due to Welsh Government policy.

As you might be aware, dental practices in England are allowed to reopen from today and deliver a full range of treatments. As a dental practice we feel that our patients and all dental patients in Wales are being unfairly disadvantaged compared to those in the rest of the UK.

Welsh dentists are currently being prevented from providing dental care due to Welsh Government policy. English dentists have been supported in re-opening with the relevant protocols, but dentists in Wales are being blocked from using these safe and evidence based guidelines. Instead dental practice’s are being forced to adhere to the Welsh Government’s guidance, which states that routine dentistry will not be fully restored until January 2021.

If you would like to help dentists in Wales safely return to treating patients sooner, please write to your local MP/MS. Alternatively, you can download our pre-written letter to edit if you wish and send by post or email.
